Mildred Burton Emerson, 93, of Sandidge Road in Eubank, Kentucky, formerly of the Mt. Olive community, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Fountain Circle Nursing Home in Winchester, Kentucky.
She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on September 25, 1917, daughter of the late Elmer and Laura Smith Burton. She was a homemaker and a long time member of Eubank Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Roy G. Emerson of Ft. Worth, TX and Gerald R. Emerson of Winchester, KY, one sister, Helen Smith of Cincinnati, OH, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Emerson, her parents, one son, Jeffery G. Emerson, who died in infancy, one daughter, Sue E. Smith, six brothers, Hoy, Boyd, Lloyd, Floyd, Clyde and Leroy Burton, two sisters, Susie Black and Elsie Estes and one granddaughter, Trenna Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating.
Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
