William "Bill" Burkett

William "Bill" Burkett, 63, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on December 9, 1946, son of the late William Howard and Ethel Mae Roy Burkett. He was a farmer and a member of Eubank Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by two sons, Jeff & (Cindy) Burkett of Science Hill and Greg & (Margaret) Burkett of Somerset, four sisters, Pearlie Jones of Mt. Victory, Joann Hunley of Somerset, Sue Singleton of Eubank and Linda Denney of Somerset and three grandchildren, Laura & (Andreas) Bilz, Kaitlyn Burkett and Abigail Burkett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Baker Burkett, whom he married on September 26, 1970 and who died on February 5, 2005, his parents, two brothers, James Burkett and Robert Burkett Jr. and two sisters who were twins, June and Jewell Burkett. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Harris and Bro. Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
