James "Jim" Butt

James "Jim" Butt, 65, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on August 10, 1945, son of the late William Herbert and Hazel Gillespie Butt. He was a contractor sales associate at Lowe's and a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley F. Butt of Somerset, one son, Greg & (Donna) Butt of Somerset, one daughter, Shelia & (Steve) Holt of LaGrange, KY, two step brothers, Othel & (Jearlean) Dick, Noel & (Glyness) Dick, one step sister, Betty & (Rod) Elliott, all of Science Hill, two grandchildren, Joseph "J.T." Ladd and Creighton Ladd, two step grandchildren, Natalie Holt and Olivia Holt, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William "Bill" Butt. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Sisson, Bro. Ron Wesley and Bro. Brian Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
