Edward Earl "Buddy" Gilpin

Edward Earl "Buddy" Gilpin, 67, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at Fort Logan Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Ekatowa, Kentucky on December 11, 1942, son of Dorothy Robbins Gilpin and the late William Shelby Gilpin. He was a truck driver for Super Service and a member of New Life Church of God of Prophecy. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet Mitchell Gilpin of Waynesburg, his mother, Dorothy Robbins Gilpin of McKinney, KY, one son, William Earl "Willie" & (Pauline) Gilpin, four precious granddaughters, Karley Raye, Katelynn Paje, Kassidy Noel and Haven Skye Gilpin. He is also survived by seven brothers, Larry & (Donna) Gilpin, Jerry & (Paulette) Gilpin, William & (Tammy) Gilpin, Paul & (Tonya) Gilpin, Tony & (Jeanie) Gilpin, Sam & (Tersea) Gilpin and Audie Gilpin Miracle, six sisters, Nyoka & (Freddy) Humphrey, Linda Yantz, Shelby & (Gene) Thornton, Anita Gifford, Shirley & (Jerry) Absher and Mary & (James) Adams and a number of nieces and nephews and special loved one, Tina Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his father, William Shelby Gilpin, two brothers, Billy Randal Gilpin and Joseph Lynn Gilpin and one sister, Lula Gilpin Ferguson. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 10, 2010 at New Life Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Samuel Smith and Bro. William Pelfrey officiating. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at New Life Church of God of Prophecy. Donations may be made to the Edward Earl Gilpin Memorial Fund, C/O Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
