Wendell Ard

Mr. Wendell Ard, 80, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Veterans Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Naomi, Kentucky on January 11, 1930, son of the late Oscar and Willie Marie Pierce Ard. He was a commercial farmer, diesel mechanic, pilot and an amature radio operator. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his wife, Faye Mills Ard, whom he married on May 7, 1950, three brothers, Ronald & (Maredith) Ard of Science Hill, Norman Ard of Somerset and Loren & (Betty) Ard of Middletown, OH, three sisters, Fayrene & (Ray) Losey of Science Hill, Lucille Wallin of Sharonville, OH and Ruth Ann & (Jack) Hines of Mintonville, KY, two nieces and ten nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anna Marie Ard, sister-in-law, Violet Ard and one nephew. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Muse, Bro. Patrick Butcher and Bro. Troy Merrick officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
