Omer C. Woodall

Omer C. (Clifford) Woodall, son of the late Aaron and Ethel Barnett Woodall, was born in the Bent Community on March 13, 1933 and departed this life on December 8, 2006 at the age of 73 years. He was a former employee of Cumberland Wood and Chair and a member of Piney Grove United Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of SP4. He is survived by his wife, Edna Bradley Woodall, whom he married on December 23, 1954, a daughter, Beverly & (Ollie) Merritt of Somerset, two granddaughters, Shawna Merritt and Sarah Merritt both of Somerset, a sister, Ella B. Slavey of Somerset, three brothers, Arvin & (Vera) Woodall of Ohio and Marlin & (Vera) Woodall and Arlin "Jack" & (Jeanette) Woodall both of Somerset. He will also be missed by many relatives, friends and neighbors of which there are two special people, Russell and Judy Molden. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Rosie Bray, Lexie Meece and Louretha Mounce and two brothers, Clinton and Denton Woodall. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 11, 2006 at Piney Grove United Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Shadoan and Bro. Lowell Parkey officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery #1. Visitation will be after 5 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
