J.T. "Jack" Bullock, son of the late John and Daisy McKinney Bullock, Sr., was born in Vanhook, Kentucky on July 20, 1915 and departed this life on December 11, 2006 at the age of 91 years.
He was a farmer, sawmill worker and school bus driver. He was also a merchant and postmaster at Dahl.
He is survived by a son, Dorman & (Wanda) Bullock of the Dahl Community, a daughter, Margaret McQuarter of Barnesburg, two sisters, Edna Harris and Ruth Sewell both of Somerset, a step sister, Bea Noe of Somerset-Valley Oak Community, five grandchildren, Randy, Tony and Robert McQuarter, Kevin & (Angie) Bullock and Kathy Rookard, a special friend and pen-pal, Marie Carroll Kinley of Greenwood, Indiana, eight great-grandchildren, Adam, Anthony and Sammy Jo Bullock, David and Daniel McQuarter and Kyra, Alissa and Andrea Rookard, former son-in-law, Joe McQuarter of Bethelridge, former grand son-in-law, Chris Rookard, former granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Coffey and former great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Layton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marta Sears Bullock, whom he married on April 22, 1938, parents, special step-mother, Sophia Bullock, four brothers, Paris, Howard, Paul and Denver Bullock, a half brother, John "Doc" Bullock, Jr., a step sister, Lura Carter and a great-grandchild, Natasha Rookard.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Herman Hamilton officiating.
Burial will be in Barnesburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
