Anna Lee (May) Leigh

November 29, 1930 — January 21, 2007

Anna Lee (May) Leigh, 76, left us to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2007. She was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on November 29, 1930 to the late Taylor and Gracie (Sims) May. She was a graduate of Campbellsville College and Eastern Kentucky University. She retired from teaching after 28 years with the Pulaski County School System, most of which was with the fourth grade at Eubank Elementary. She was awarded Teacher of the Year, was a Kentucky Colonel, Miss Waynesburg in 1948 and was in Who's Who. She was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at the age of 16 and remained faithful in his service throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Gerald Leigh, two children, Steve & (Virginia) Leigh of Somerset and Angela & (Rick) Smith of Princeton, WV, a brother, Emery & (Roberta) May of Campbellsville, KY, a sister-in-law, Donna Wilkinson, three grandchildren, Meghan Leigh, Evan Smith and Stacy & (Jason) Smith Wilson and several nieces and nephews. She was blessed by a multitude of special friends who also became like family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers who died in infancy, J.C. and Jerry May. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Victory Christian Fellowship, Somerset with Pastor Mark Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy go to: The Gideons International or Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
