Ora E. (Watson) Spears

Ora E. (Watson) Spears, 97, formerly of Bethel Ridge, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at her residence in Butlerville, Indiana. She was born in Casey County, Kentucky on October 19, 1909, daughter of the late Huston and Emily (Ashley) Watson. She was a homemaker. She is survived by six sons, Homer Spears of Bethel Ridge, Stanley Spears and Willis Spears both of North Vernon, IN, Lewis Spears and Thomas Spears both of Somerset and Dale Spears of Calvary Ridge, KY, five daughters, Freeda Wesley and Beulah Denham both of Cincinnati, OH, Stella Walker of North Vernon, IN, Jean Taylor of Science Hill and Mary Lou Arnette of Butlerville, IN, one sister, Essie Hines of Cincinnati, OH, 47 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 37 great-great-grandchildren, one great-great- great-grandchild, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Spears, whom she married on November 9, 1927 in Covington, KY and who died on July 10, 1988, her parents, one son, Delbert Spears, three grandsons, two great-grandsons, seven brothers, Preston, Okley, Herman, Noel, Herchel, Jerry and William Watson and a half sister, Irene Sweet. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 29, 2007 at Bethel Ridge United Methodist Church with Bro. Brian Janes officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, until time for services. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
