Virginia (Godbey) Vaught

Virginia (Godbey) Vaught, 82 of Science Hill, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Casey County, Kentucky on September 9, 1924, daughter of the late Elmer and Jenny (Elliott) Godbey. She was a homemaker, a foster grandparent for Oakwood and a member of Carter Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Patty Haste of Science Hill and Ruby Sue Bolin of Nancy, a daughter-in-law, Jo Vaught of Science Hill, one brother, Phillip Godbey of Marion County, KY, one sister, Betty Jo Spears of Casey County, KY, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jarvis Vaught, whom she married on May 8, 1943 and who died on November 9, 1993, her parents, one son, Frank Robert Vaught, five brothers, Henry, James, Frank, Harvey and Litton Godbey, two sisters, Orena Roy and Jeannette Roberts, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, with Bro. David Eastham officiating. Burial will be in Vaught Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
