Gladys Whitaker Scalf

Gladys Whitaker Scalf, 79 of Meece Ave., Nancy, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset. She was born in Lockland, Ohio on August 13, 1927, daughter of the late James and Sallie (Vanhook) Whitaker. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one son, Randy Scalf of Spring Hill, FL, one daughter, Brenda Scalf Spaw of Somerset, one brother, Robert "Trig" Whitaker of London, one sister, Elise Whitaker Rawlings of Joelton, TN, fourteen grandchildren, Gregory Ray Scalf, Mark Allen Scalf, Shannon Stahl, Jodi Diane Scalf, Jeff Overberg, Ryan Overberg, Emily Rae Overberg, Josuha Prater, Heather Scalf, Benjamin Scalf, Caitlyn Scalf, Carolyn Scalf, Dawson Kunaphel and Harper Scalf and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Allen Scalf, who died on October 22, 1980, her parents, one son, Rayford Scalf, one daughter, Diane Scalf Overberg, one brother, Rayford Whitaker and one sister, Helen Whitaker Drew. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Donovan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
