Barbara "Audrine" Wilson-Tucker, age 87 passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Audrine was born March 16, 1937 at Ansel, Kentucky in Pulaski County. She was the daughter of Herbert H. Wilson and Alma King-Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Alma Wilson; sister, Pauline VanNostrand; brothers, Russel Wilson and Marvin Ray Wilson; and her husband, Fred "Carmel" Tucker. She is survived by her brothers, Lonnie (Jeanette) Wilson, Gilbert (Mary Anne) Wilson, and Steve Wilson and one sister, Susan Wilson-Richardson. She was much loved and will be missed by all her nieces and nephews; Sharon Wilson-Lynch (Don), Diana Wilson-Paskowski (Bob), Anita Wilson, Donna Wilson-Cox (William), Leah Richardson-Souders (David), Stephanie Wilson-Willis, Melissa Wilson-Veltman (Kevin), Erin Wilson- McIver (Nick), Larry Richardson (Shannon), Kyle Wilson, Darren Wilson (Renee), Stuart Wilson (Ashley), Nathan Wilson, and Jeff Wilson (Audra). Audrine will especially be missed by her great-nieces and great-nephews that she considered to be her own children, Lance Souders, Lincoln Souders, Mason Richardson, Grant Richardson, Carinne Souders, and Ariel Richardson. In total, Audrine has 32 great-nieces and nephews and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Audrine graduated as the Valedictorian from Eubank High School in 1956. She attended Cumberland College for two years and then transferred to the University of Kentucky where she earned her BS in Education and her Masters degree in Elementary Education. She completed her Rank 1 at Eastern Kentucky University. Audrine loved teaching the minds of young children in her community. She taught for over 30 years in the public schools systems. After retiring, Audrine was a substitute teacher in Pulaski County for another 12 years. It was during this time that she became known fondly as the "Gold Fish Lady" by all the students because she always carried a box of Gold Fish to treat her students for their hard work. Audrine was blessed with the ability to paint pictures with words as she authored four books. She attended painting classes throughout her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, especially overseas when given the opportunity. She did travel abroad to Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, and Germany. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a devout Christian that was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. Her trust in her Lord Jesus Christ was loved out through her love and compassion for people. She helped instill the Gospel in several peoples lives by teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for children. She was a very charitable woman, always giving money to help those who were less fortunate. She was a long time supporter of Children's International and American Four American Indian Schools out west. She enjoyed the Glory of GOD's creation as she always had the prettiest flower beds in her neighborhood, and the fattest birds and squirrels. She loved her crossword puzzles and looked forward to the one in the Commonwealth Journal especially. She was quick witted and sharp as a tack. She could ask more questions in a little bit of time more than any person we knew. She always said "inquiring minds want to know!" She loved her church family and appreciated all the love, support, and care they extended to her while she was bedfast. She will be missed by a host of family, friends, and neighbors that she is leaving behind. But we know she is running in Heaven singing praises to her Lord and visiting her family and friends.
