Bessie Williams

Bessie Williams, 96, of Science Hill, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020.

She was born in Smilax, Kentucky on November 7, 1923; daughter of the late Harrison & Martha (Engle) Wells. She was a mother, homemaker, & member of Science Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Dwight & (Patsy) Williams of Science Hill; three daughters, Debbie & (Ronnie) Norton of Science Hill, Loretta & (Donald) Rinthen of Lancaster, and Patricia & (Raymond) Godby of Somerset; two brothers, Harrison Wells, Jr. of Science Hill & Elmer Wells of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Anna Childers of Appleton, Georigia, & Mary Jones of Science Hill; 13 grandchildren, Robert Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Rebecca Holst, Michelle Duncan, Stephen Williams, Ryan Williams, Gary Herren, Jr., Richard Herren, Edward Herren, James Herren, Ashley Herren, Brian Norton, Brandon Norton; 27 great-grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren on the way; 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; a former son-in-law, who called her mom, Gary Herren; and a special friend & caretaker, Audean Vaught.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Williams; a son, Russell Williams, five brothers, Chester, Arnold, Dennis, Ray, & Elbert Wells; two sisters, Mavie Lawson & Evelyn Brooks.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Melton officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
