Carmel W. New, 78, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.He was born in Jonesville, Kentucky on August 5, 1939, son of the late Marvin and Jane New. He was a saw mill owner and operator of Woodmont Woodworks and a farmer. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Mary Cummins New of Eubank, one son, Darrell & (Nancy) New of Eubank, one daughter, Kim Kazsuk of Russell Springs, two step sons, Steve Cromer and Bro. Dave Muse, both of Somerset, one brother, Howard Lee New of Eubank, two grandchildren, Zackery West and Sydney New, three step grandchildren, Josh Cromer, Jake Cromer and Savannah Muse and three great-grandchildren, Laney Morrow, Jordyn Cromer and Cailyn Cromer.He was preceded in death by his first spouse of 51 years, Letty New, his parents, four brothers, Estill New, Harold New, Carlos New and Robert "Bob" Gene New and three sisters, Wilma Blevins, Luzetta New and Lodena Harper.A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds, Bro. David Muse and Bro. Gary New officiating.Burial will be in Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery.Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
