Charles J. "Toby" Howson, 95, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Alois Alzheimer Center in Cincinnati, Ohio surrounded by his family.
He was born April 22, 1929 in Eubank, Pulaski County, Kentucky to Clyde Wesley and Matoka (Cornett) Howson.
As a young man, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he became reacquainted with Olline Blevins from Briary. They were married and had two children, a son and daughter. He was employed by Rayburn Construction Company until his retirement. He and Olline retired to Lake Cumberland where they built a beautiful home on the lake. They enjoyed the lake life while he pursued his passion for Beekeeping. The honey he harvest over the years is still being enjoyed today and will be for many more. In his later years, after the passing of his wife, he returned to Cincinnati to live with his son and to be close to his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olline (Blevins) Howson, who passed August 5, 2010; his parents, Clyde Wesley Howson and Matoka (Cornett) Howson; three brothers, Walter L. "John" Howson, Andrew "Bud" Howson, Laurel Clinton "Tink" Howson; seven sisters, Geneva Ashley, Jewel Reynolds, Ruth Smith, Eveleen Benevengo, Anna Mae Howson, Josephine Howson, and Mildred Akins; and a granddaughter, Lori Elizabeth Howson.
He is survived by his son, Charles "Randy" Howson of Cincinnati, Ohio; his daughter, Judy A. Howson of Highland Heights, Kentucky; his grandson, James Howson and his wife Amy; and his two great-grandchildren, Barrett Howson and Bailey Howson.
A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating.
Burial will be at Briary Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends starting at 11 AM until time for services.
