Debra "Debbie" Wilson Dykes, 70, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Baptist Health in Lexington.
She was born October 9, 1952 in Somerset; daughter of the late William Merkel & Lucille (Inabnitt) Wilson. She was a computer operator for Southern Belle Dairy. She was a member of New Beginnings Worship Center, a graduate of Somerset High School, and enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and gospel music.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Dykes; her son Seth & (Valerie) Dykes of Campbellsville; two brothers, David & (Debbie) Wilson of Somerset and Brent Wilson of Somerset; three sisters, Sharon & (Sherman) Wilson Parkey of Somerset, Sue Shadoan of Somerset, and Janie Acton of Somerset; two grandchildren, Colton Dykes and Landon Dykes; and several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Ruth Ping Wilson; two brothers, Jim & (Elizabeth) Wilson and Bobby Wilson; a sister, Marjorie Wilson Floyd & (Pete Floyd); and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Shadoan and Claude Acton.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the New Beginnings Worship Center at 1335 Thurman Road in Somerset, Kentucky with Bro. Stacy Tuttle officiating.
Burial will be in Silvers Cemetery on Thurman Road in Somerset, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the New Beginnings Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in the form of donations to the Gideons International or the Silvers Cemetery Fund.
