Dexter Dwayne Mobley, 80, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Camden, OH on December 18, 1937; son of the late Ernest and Edna Steele Mobley. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a retired truck driver, and was also known to many as Papa Smurf.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Whitis Mobley; three sons, Scott Mobley & (Sheila) of Eubank, Jamie Alexander & (Malynda) of Nancy, and John Mobley & (Mandy) of Eubank; four daughters, Lynn Matlock & (Debby) of Lexington, Judy Muse of Somerset, Mindy Huber & (Jimbob) of Somerset, and Amanda Mobley of Eubank; a brother, Danny Spurgeon of OH; a special friend, Andrea Ramsey of Eubank; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; his grand-dog, Squeeker; and also many friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann Roy Mobley; a son, Terry Mobley; a son-in-law, Jerry Lee Muse; and a grandson, Jerry Lee Muse,Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
Visitation for Dexter Dwayne Mobley will be after 6 PM Friday, November 2, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
