Doie Ray Spears

Doie Ray Spears, 73, of Hanover Township, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his residence.

 

He was born on May 16, 1947 in Bethelridge; son of the late Earl Dee & Ruthie (Godbey) Spears. He was a Chemical Worker at Sun Chemical for 23 years. He was a Disabled Vietnam Veteran, member of the VFW, and member of the Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Ohio Norwood Lodge No. 576 in Norwood, Ohio.

 

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Irvine) Spears; three sons, Douglas Gale Spears, Kenneth Ray Spears & (Tracy Hoerst), and David Allen Spears, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, Prentice Lee Spears, Billy Gene Spears, & Roy Junior Spears, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Wanda Sue Garrett of Bethelridge, Kentucky, Iva Christine Clements of Kentucky, and Nancy Lou Foster of Bethelridge, Kentucky; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William Hershel Spears, James Garfield Spears, & Travis Denzil Spears; and a sister, Betty Jo Mullins.

 

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Sweet officiating. Masonic Services will be held at 12:00 PM prior to the funeral service.

 

Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Monday, March 22, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
