Fred Barger

Freddy Gene “Fred” Barger, 72 of Indianapolis and former resident of Franklin; passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 in Indianapolis. He was born on January 3, 1950 in Pontiac, Michigan to Gerald and Lorene (Parks) Barger. He married Glenda Burton on January 12, 1972. She preceded him in passing on January 7, 1995. He is survived by children, Jerel Barger; Stacey Crover (Mikael); Katina Turner (Eric) and Jason Barger; sisters, Ann Barger and Geri Barger and grandchildren, Darrian Barger, Jacob Balderas, Amber Portocarrero, Fulton Barger, Kayleb Hoots, Kaydence Witt and Jaxon Barger. He was preceded in passing by his parents and wife, Glenda. Fred attended Carrier Mills, Illinois High School and was a graduate of Butler University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retiring after twenty years and finishing out his military career in the National Guard. Fred was employed by Arvin Automotive. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Shady Grove Cemetery.
