Hoy Baker Jr.

Hoy Baker Jr. "Junior", 76 of Eubank, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord December 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. 

Junior was born on May 25, 1947, to Hoy and Evelyn Dobbs Baker in Pulaski County.  He was united in marriage to Freda Bland on November 27, 1971, at Immanuel Baptist Church and they would spend the next 52 years loving each other. They were blessed with two daughters Emily and Jill. Junior was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years and for the past 16 years, he has been a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church. He was an employee of General Electric from which he retired in 2004 after 36 years.  He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing and working on the farm but there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Junior had a kind and giving heart and loved to help others. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. 

He leaves behind his wife, Freda Baker, who he loved dearly, two daughters; Emily (Daniel) Roark and Jill (Adam) Wright, five grandchildren; Macey Wright, Caleb Wright, Aly Roark, Toby Wright, and Eli Roark, one sister Connie Ferrell and two brothers; Charlie (Lana) Baker and Alan Baker as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoy and Evelyn Baker. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 9:00 AM in the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. 

Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery with military honors performed by American Legion Post #38. 

Pallbearers will be Adam Wright, Caleb Wright, Toby Wright, Gage Callahan, Daniel Roark and Eli Roark.
