James Fred "Jim" Wesley, 82, of Science Hill passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born January 12, 1940 in Pulaski County; son of the late Loyal and Geneva (Godby) Wesley. He worked as the Environmental Director of the Lake Cumberland District Health Department. He sat on the District Board of Health, Pulaski County Board of Health, and the Lifepoint Patient Advisory Board at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. After retirement he hosted Swap and Shop on WSFC and Jim Wesley's Bag of Gold on WSEK. He was a member of the Science Hill Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge # 255. He was also a member of the Shriner's Oleika Temple in Lexington, Lake Cumberland Shrine Club, and Shriner's Mini-Trail. He was a member of West Science Hill Baptist Church. Jim loved old country music and telling the history behind the songs, writers, and musicians.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Morene (Acey) Wesley; his sons, Rick & (Shannon) Wesley of Somerset and Greg & (Cora) Wesley of Nancy; siblings, Gary & (Shirley) Wesley of Science Hill and Brenda & (James) Eubank of Richmond; grandchildren, Madison & (Mark) Watts of New Albany, Indiana and Jarrod Wesley of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Scott Wesley.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday May 29, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Don Branscum and Bro. Norman Harper officiating.
Masonic services will be held 12:30 PM Sunday May 29, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home by Mt. Gilead Lodge # 255.
Burial will be in West Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
