Jean Ard, 88, of Somerset, passed to the next life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born April 18, 1935, in Hancock, Tennessee; daughter of the late W.H. & Laura (Seal) Mills. She worked as a seamstress and part owner of New Towne Tailors. Jean also worked for Palm Beach for 24 years. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Sandra White of Sebring, Florida and a nephew, Todd M. Hines of Atlanta, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilmer "G" Ard; and two sisters, Phyrell Mills and Faye Ard.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Chestnut officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 11:30 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Gideons International.
