Juanita Jean Pitman

PITMAN, Juanita (nee Adams), 84, passed away surrounded by her family on Aug. 7, 2023. Juanita was the nucleus of the Pitman family. She was also a beloved member of the Wyoming community, driving the bus for the school district and sports teams for more than 20 years. Juanita was the rock of her family and loved them dearly, passionately, and deeply. 

She was born on April 15, 1939, the youngest daughter of Rufus and Adney Adams (nee Vaught). She is reunited with her husband, Gene Pitman, who died on Feb. 27, 2015. Juanita is survived by her four children, Terry Pitman (Jayne), of Perryville, KY, Kim Boyd (Scott) of Batavia, OH, Brian Pitman of Wyoming, OH, and Michael Pitman (Christy) of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Stefanie Whitney (Doug) and Travis Boyd (Emily); Seth Singleton (Matthew) and Brody Pitman, Noah Pitman, Brooke Pitman, Tristan Pitman and Aubrey Pitman; Emma Pitman and Sophia Pitman; Kaylee Keeling; Brandon Boyd (Rachel) and Ryan Boyd (Christina); great-grandchildren Isaac and
Lucas Whitney; Macie, Genevieve, and Ezekiel Boyd; Kaydon, Braylee, Baylee and Kub Keeling; Laycee and Cayden Boyd, Ben Cochrane, and Addy Boyd; sister-in-law Ivadean Warren, of Science Hill; and scores of nephews and nieces, including Jack Haggard, Gary Haggard (Patty), Brenda Hetrick (Nick), Judy Haste (Hershel), Linda Hale (John), Larry Warren (Sherry), Karen Hornsby, Vicki Lucas (Jim), Rick Adams (Brenda), Dave Adams, Lora Williams (Eddie), Carrie Adams, Gwen Matthews (Chris), Nancy Lothes (Ralph), Donna Collins, Danny Adams, Peggy Spears, Patricia Scales (Patrick), Harold Adams, Judy Moshél (Dan), and Geraldine Owens (Barry); and very dear friends of the family, Larry and Billie Faye Hines. There are also countless great-nephews and nieces.

In addition to Gene, Juanita was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred Adams (Dorothy), Lela Adams, Beulah Adams, Stanley “Jim” Adams (Marie), Marion Adams (Irene), Woodrow “Woody” Adams (Loraine), Zella Caudill (David), Angeline “Teenie” Hodge (Bass), and Lawrence “Frankie” Adams; grandson-in-law Brandon Keeling; nephews and nieces Michael Adams, Noel Hornsby, Tommy Adams, Donnie Adams, Bobby Adams, Sherry Jordan, Priscilla Nixon, Glenn Adams, Darrell Hodge and Jackie Adams; and brother-in-law William Warren.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the West Science Hill Cemetery.
