Marion Poynter

Marion Wilmer Poynter, 71, of Eubank, unexpectedly passed away at his residence on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Marion was born in 1953 to Wilmer and Lavone Poynter. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, and the mother to his sons, Joyce Ping and Donna McMains. He left behind cherished memories that will be treasured by all that knew and loved him.

Marion was a true American farmer; dedicated to giving back to the land and God's Creations that provided for him and his loved ones. He was hardworking and stern but always willing to open his hands and heart to children and those in need. The gates to his home were always open to provide a place for family and friends to triumph over life's challenges and share stories to rejoice in life.

He is survived by his three sons, James & (Kelly) Poynter, Barry & (Savannah) Poynter, and Ryder McMains; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers to keep his memory alive. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he cherished.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 AM Thursday, June 27, 2024.
