Richard Maxey

Richard Earl Maxey, 79, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Richard was born on July 3, 1945 to the late Hobert and Goldie (Lambert) Maxey in Laurel County, Kentucky. He worked for Kroger, Pulaski County Sheriffs Office, Walmart, and was a truck driver for Flavor Rich. He was also a Bus Monitor for the Pulaski County School System. He was volunteered as a Referee for all sports in Pulaski County, President of Pulaski County Little League, President of Pulaski county Youth Football League, and President of Somerset High School Booster Club. Richard was a faithful member of Eubank Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Kevin (Beverly) Maxey and Kimberly Watkins both of Eubank, KY; two brothers, Dennis (Jodette) Maxey of Coral Springs, FL and Don (Ruth) Maxey of Antehiem, CA; a sister, Debbie (Bill) Patterson of Eubank, KY; ten grandchildren, Michelle Burton, Keshia Lawless, Dakota Lawless, Ricky Maxey, Olivia Maxey, Brooke Watkins, Peyton Watkins, Emily Jones, Alyssa Burton, and Alexis Pittman; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn (Bennett) Maxey; his parents; a son, James Richard "Ricky" Maxey; a sister, Wilma Rush; a great-grandchild, Treyton Jones; and a great-great-grandchild, Ezmerae Burton.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Hughes and Bro. Clay Herd officiating.

Burial will be at Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4PM-7PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
