Robert "Bob" Carroll Godsey, 82, of Science Hill, KY, passed away Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
Bob was born October 22nd, 1941 in Pulaski County to the late Bill Godsey and Delia Jasper Godsey.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jo Hendricks Godsey. He is also survived by his two children; Becky Godsey Thurman, Bobby Godsey; four grandchildren; Michael Thurman and Alicia, Austin Thurman and Haley, Trinity Turner, John Turner; eight Great Grand Children; Taylor Brown, Dakota Sadler, Destiny Sadler, Riley Thurman, Jasper Thurman, KynLee Thurman, Lainey Thurman, and Tucker Thurman.
He is survived by one brother Tom Godsey and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Patsy Godsey; brothers, Gene Godsey, Billy Godsey, Ed Godsey and Lee Godsey and one grandson Stanley Turner.
He loved raising and fighting game roosters. He loved horses and raising cattle and trading cattle as well as visiting stockyards in Kentucky and Tennessee. He even enjoyed bringing the first buffaloes back to Pulaski County in the 70's. He enjoyed farming and cattle with Michael and Austin and talking to people, anytime and anywhere.
Most of all he loved having his family around him from Becky all the way down to Tucker and everyone in between; but especially the love of his life and right arm, Jo.
He will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Vaught Ridge Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Steve Burdine officiating.
Burial will be in Vaught Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 11 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2024 until time for services.
