Roy Johnathan Smith, 93, of Eubank, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
He was born February 4, 1928 in Bobtown, Kentucky; son of the late Morris & Vinnie (Smiley) Smith. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was also a farmer and worked for General Motors for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge # 4 in Vancouver, Washington.
He is survived by two sons, John Smith and Jerry & (Melanie) Smith, both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; a daughter, Rita & (David) Conley of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; two step-sons, Donald O'Dell of Somerset, Kentucky and James O'Dell of Delaware; three step-daughters, Shirley Games, Sandra Massey, and Peggy Sue Powell, all of Delaware; a sister, Ruey Crouch of Eubank, Kentucky; six grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and forty-four step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma (Nevels) Smith; his second wife, Mary (Bellomy) Smith; a step-son, George O'Dell; a step-daughter, Mary Frances Duhaway; two brothers, Hubert & (Betty) Smith and Wilmer Smith; and a sister, Zula Coe.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Ogle officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 38.
Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
