Sheila Thurman, 63 of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.

Sheila was born October 26, 1960 in Akron. Ohio to Ray and Lodema (Griffin) Saxon. Sheila worked as a caregiver for FHP for many years, where she showed great compassion and care for the individuals that were in her charge. She was a graduate of Somerset Community College and held an Associate's Degree for Clinical Lab Technicians. She was known as "The Fun One" and loved to explore and try new things, see new places and taste new foods. Sheila was an artist and enjoyed art, rocks and nature as well as animals. On family holidays, She went all out, it was important to her that everyone had fun and she made sure of it! Sheila was her own person and she lived to make a difference in the lives of her family and all of the other peoples lives she touched. She will Be greatly missed.

She leaves behind, three children, Shane Thurman, Tyler Thurman, and Angie Thurman, one Step Son Jackie Bertram, her grand children; Logan Bertram, Lilly Bertram, Tessa Burkett, Samantha Tyler, Kaleb Thurman, Kamryn Thurman, and Sarabeth Thurman, one brother Bill Saxon, seven great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews and family members who will miss her presence so much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lodema Saxon, one brother, Leonard Saxon and a sister, Sandy Golden.

A grave side service will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 1:30 in the Science Hill Cemetery.

A pot luck meal will be held in her honor following the service at The Science Hill Ball Park Shelters and the family wishes all those who wish to attend to please come and be ready to tell your best stories and share your best memories of Sheila.
