William (Billy) Kirk, 58, of Science Hill, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2025, after his big heart could give no more. He passed from this life at the Jean Waddle Care Center, Lake Cumberland Hospice, in Somerset, Kentucky.
The son of Ted and Wanda (Briggs) Kirk, currently of Summerville, South Carolina and previously of Ijamsville, Maryland where Billy grew up. He was a 1984 graduate from Linganore High School in Frederick County, Maryland. He was also a graduate from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.
Billy is the grandson of the late W.G. and Lucille (Waits) Kirk and late Wesley and Myrtle (Phoenix) Briggs, all of Maryland.
He has one sister, Jenni (Mike) Gilroy and two nephews, Michael and Daniel, all who live in Walkersville, Maryland. He also had a sister in his sister-in-law, Lora (Terry) Fretwell of Knoxville, Tennessee.
A devoted husband Billy has been married to his loving wife Brenda (Hamlin) Kirk for 21 years and they have five amazing children, Joseph, Katie, James, Gracie, and Johnny. Together they also fostered several children throughout the years, it has been their ministry and part of their legacy built. Billy was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Billy is a two-time cancer survivor as well as survivor of a severe motorcycle accident. He seemed invincible, his love for life and people was immeasurable. But above this was his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and telling others about Jesus and all He had brought him through and "if He could save a wretched man like him, He could and would save anyone."
He has touched the life of many and many will never be the same for it. Billy will be greatly missed in this life, but he is on the other side praising his Savior and waiting for the glorious day when those who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus will all be together again.
